Al spent this week with Dr. Espy for more treatment. Everything is still holding. It has been 6 months since he has had any new symptoms of ALS. These are such wonderful results. This session, she was able to work on his right wrist, besides his whole body, to try to get back some of its' use. When he left he could hold his wrist upright and hold his coffee cup instead of having his wrist droop. His right hand and wrist are his worst areas. He has a button helper (besides me) that is a tool to help him button his shirts and pants. It is amazing to see how much he can do with his knuckles now that his fingers aren't functioning very well.
His strength continues to test strong. He is doing well on the zone diet and fish oil. They have put lime flavor in the fish oil so that makes it easier to swallow. He thinks anyone who has lobster fished and had to deal with bait has a harder time swallowing the fish oil. The zone diet has come out with chocolate shakes which makes it easier for him for meals and snacks. They also have frozen dinners we are going to try. He has been putting around the yard trying to keep busy. It is sort of spring here. His next appointment is mid June.

We where away on vacation in the warm climate. The motion is Al's hand did so much better there plus he physically and mentally felt better. We are giving it some serious thought about heading south for the winter next year. We will have to go for 3 to 6 months so I can get a job while we are there. We may end up selling an acre of land so we can make this all possible. Of course I would hate to go to Florida for the winter and Maine for the summer. But I will try to grin and bear it.
Thank you for all your messages through the web page. We are so glad so many people have visited it and send us well wishes. Thank you for all your prayers and love. It means a great deal to us.
