Al is home from another week of treatment in Massachusetts with Dr. Espy.  She was very impressed with how well everything was "holding".  He was able to resist her pushing his arms down.  In October he couldn't hold them up.  His over all strength is better than before his first treatment.  His speech and swallowing is still good, too.  She worked on his whole body and wants to do this one more time then she can start working on his hands and other parts of his body where he is having difficulty.  She explained that she is changing the nerve  frequency in his body and rebuilding his nerves with the wires that he is hooked up to 8 hours a day.  The fish oil puts oxygen into his nerves which also rebuilds the nerves.
It was easier for Al to do the treatment this time now that he know what to expect and the fact that it is making him better.  He is doing well on his diet and taking the fish oil.  Personally, I would stick to the fish oil capsules, but he takes the liquid because of the large amounts of fish oil he needs.  It would take 60 capsules a day to reach his quota.
The Zone Diet portions are 40g carbohydrate - 30g protein - 30g fat.  he needs to eat 3 meals and 3 snacks a day with equal portions.  This keep his insulin level even.  Needless to say we are all very happy and excited that AL is doing so well.  It certainly helps his mental state, too.  Thank you for all your prayers, love and support.
